UNESCO Center for Peace, AJ Action Team and aSTEAMvillage Endorse the 750 Walk for Peace and Windsor Youth Fundraising Campaign for Windsor Youth Centre and Sandwich Team Action Group
A Joint Endorsement Rooted in Peace, Education and Action
The UNESCO Center for Peace, AJ Action Team and aSTEAMvillage unite around a shared conviction:
Peace must be taught, practiced, supported and carried into the daily life of every community.
Peace is not limited to the absence of war or conflict. It is also reflected in whether young people have food, shelter, guidance, educational opportunities, positive outlets and adults who believe in their potential.
Peace becomes real when a young person experiencing hardship can enter a safe space and receive compassionate support.
Peace becomes sustainable when youth are equipped to become creators, innovators, community leaders and problem-solvers.
Peace becomes visible when individuals such as Teajai Travis are willing to accept a difficult assignment, place service before comfort and carry a message of hope across hundreds of kilometres.
Through this joint endorsement, the three organizations affirm the importance of the 750 Walk for Peace and call upon the public to support its fundraising campaign for the Windsor Youth Centre and Sandwich Teen Action Group.
